What is Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is a talking therapy. It takes place within a safe, confidential environment.

Psychotherapy is concerned with the whole person, including his or her life history, past and present relationships, and conscious and unconscious processes.

Through the relationship with the therapist, there emerges the possibility for self-discovery, change and growth.

Psychotherapy is an effective treatment for a range of emotional and relationship difficulties.

Appointments are scheduled for regular,
consistent times on a once or twice-weekly basis, for however long is required to meet the needs of the individual.

If you are considering psychotherapy, you will need to arrange a consultation. This is an opportunity for you to discuss any issues you may wish to bring to psychotherapy, and to decide with the therapist whether psychotherapy is suitable for you.

The consultations last for approximately one hour. So if you feel like you could benefit from the psychotherapy sessions available through David Smith Psychotherapist, please call today.
